Cookon Layout

We all know about love jobs. Those times a relative or friend asks you to do something for them or a friend because you are in IT. I always say yes because of my need to help people, but this one has been fun.

My Dad asked me to "Look after" a mate of his who owns Cookon Commercial. They make incredibly good cooking appliances. I'm not on commission so believe me when I tell you that I have never seen a better BBQ. Truly a work of art.

They already had a site but had been stuffed around by their developers for over 8 months. The site was a purchased product written in ASP and had been butchered to fit their needs.

It was full of nested tables, odd colors and mismatched elements. I have been working with CSS a lot recently and decided to build a new layout using a full stylesheet approach. The longest part was cleaning out the tables and inline fonts. Once that was done the site was sweet though not very pretty. After all, I was in charge of the graphics.

Check out the finished product at www.cookon.com.au

After looking at this blog again, I think I will have to attack the style of this as well.
